maybe someone can answer me this or has the same phone, i got a phone from AT&T its a samsung i think its a SGH-a437 and im just wondering if theres anyone i can download video to it it has camera but no video recorder and i'd like to have that so maybe somone can help me out i just wonder if i can download it on my phone through the internet on my phone or something or even if i have to upgrade it or something because most phones have a 60 second video recorder atleast and i know on some prepaid phones you can download it. so yeh if anyone could tell me how i can get this it'd be appreciated

Before Recording

If you have never recorded audio on a computer you may find that there are several easy ways to do so. Before attempting to record though, you will want to make sure you have a suitable microphone. These can range from a $10 computer microphone, a $1000 studio microphone, to one built in to your laptop. All these will work but the only differences will be audio quality, ranging from compression levels to audio pickup sensitivity.

Basic Recorders

The easiest and quickest way to record with any Microsoft Windows system is to use ‘Sound Recorder’ located within the start menu in Accessories. The only limitations are that recordings from Windows Sound Recorder are limited to time and one track. For more advanced recording you will probably want to use a &quotmultitrack&quot software such as Mixcraft, Cubase, or Cakewalk.

Before Recording

Before using any software you will want to make sure your microphone is plugged in properly and that the correct drivers are installed if they are needed. Some hardware is "Plug and Play" meaning that it requires no driver installation. You can check on your computers audio input and output by going to Start, Control Panel, and Sound. If you find that you have no microphone input or output drivers you may need to search on the internet for your computers hardware sound device drivers. You can do this from any search engine.

Using Multitrack Recorders

If you are wanting to record audio with multiple tracks, such as, recording your voice to background music. The best way is to use multitrack software. For a simple recording of the previous example, you would add your background music to a track, "arm" another track for your voice and then record. Before recording you will want to make sure that the track you armed has the correct microphone settings.

Saving to .WAV, .WMA, or Ṃ Format

To save your recording as a .wav, .wma, or .mp3 you will need to mixdown or export the audio to a media file. When selecting which type of file you want to save it as you will want to factor in file size to audio quality and format. .WAV files are particularly large files that take up a lot of harddrive space and might not be formatted to the specifications of audio (MP3 players) or websites. While most MP3 players and websites accept .WMA and .MP3 format. Also be aware of the various bitrates of your audio export.

Is anyone having problems with Sonic Digital Media Plus 7 not recognizing blank cd-r disks?
I have been using this program for some time with no problems. I've recorded mp3 files on cd-r music disks without problems. Now all of a sudden it will not recognize a blank cd-r disk from the same batch as before. I've checked the blank disks in my other drives and also on my other computer and they are fine. The drive is a HP 740 DVD RW DL and it will recognize blank DVDs and any type of media that has files written to them. I've con to control panel and repaired the Sonic programs with no luck. Also I rolled back to windows Media Player 10 from 11. This resoved the issue of errors when closing the Sonic program but not the cdd-r problem. Rebooting doesn't help but if I do a system restore back to the day before it works fine until the first time I open Sonic Digital Home and burn a cd. After I close the program, the next time I insert a blank cd-r it is not recognized even by going to My Computer and choosing the drive. Can anyone help sove the problem?

Although the voice alert home protection system can transmit through common obstacles such as walls, the presence of these barriers can affect the quality of the signal.  If there’s a wall between both units, for example, the signal can only be strong if the distance between both units is closer.  That means a transmitter that can send a signal to as far away as 1000 feet may only be able to muster a strong signal at 300 to 400 feet in the presence of an obstacle.  However, this can be corrected by correct placement.

The system also works best if located near windows or doors.  If there are metal surfaces or sidings between the transmitter and the receiver, a problem with the signal may also be noticed.

The system can also suffer from false alarms, although this is largely due to placement.  The recommended mounting height for the transmitter is about 2.5 ft. to 3 ft. from the ground.  The receiver should be mounted at about 7 to 8 ft., depending on the manufacturer’s recommendation.  The suggested mounting heights are designed to minimize the possibility that the system produces a false alarm.

What would be the best digital firewire-based audio recording interface to purchase?
After a very frustrating and discouraging experience of cutting a demo at a studio with an incompetent engineer, I've decided to invest in my own home recording studio. I was hoping to hear from a recording engineer (I'm hoping that there is at least one or two of you on here) or another musician into home recording on what the best digital recording audio interface would be. I'm looking for a pro-level interface as I eventually (after I figure out what I'm doing) want my recordings to be up to par with stuff that comes out of high-end studios.
